Free School Meals – New Application Process

We are pleased to let you know about a new website for completing Free School Meal (FSM) applications.

If your child already receives free school meals, you do not need to reapply. This process is only for new applications.

How it works:

• Parents/carers complete the application form online via the link.
• You will be asked to select your child’s school (the full school name and address are provided to avoid any confusion).
• Multiple children can be included in the same application, provided they live at the same address and have the same parental responsibility arrangements.
• Basic details are required for each child (such as year group, date of birth, and postcode) to help match them to their school record.
• Applications are checked weekly on Tuesdays.  You will be informed of the expected timescales during the process.
• If a faster decision is needed, schools can request one-off checks directly.
• Once processed, schools are notified of the outcome in the usual way and will share the result with you.
• Monthly rechecks will continue for children who are not currently eligible, in case circumstances change.

This new system has been designed to make the application process as simple and efficient as possible for families.
